Beth, you're bringing up a great point - I've been thinking about the target market. Are youth groups really the best market? I do think the age group is right - the book and workshop are geared toward teens. However, I wonder if there might be a better audience than youth groups. A divorce support group might be a good idea. It's designed to last for about one hour per week, for four weeks. Do you think Scout groups might be a good idea? PTA/PTO groups?

Thanks for your help!

Hi, Diane. Have you considered promoting your program as an ebook, or a webinar? You could offer it on eBay. Also, what about contacting Lifeway Christian Book Stores?

Good luck to you! I think the long-term marriage commitment is a worth while topic.

I wonder if they have programs within that they use--

How about walking into a few or making an appointment?

Do you have any testimonials?

Hi Suzy! I've been thinking about testimonials - I don't have any at this time. However, if anyone at BTBS would like to give the workshop a try and provide a "glowing" testimonial, I'll be happy to send them a set at no charge.

Diane,
Maybe the TITLE of the workshop is causing the block. The words 'marriage' and youth or teens might make people step back a bit. Is it a religious based program? Have you tried piloting the program with some inner city schools, or community centers, lower income districts, where the youth need role models, programs..etc?

For years I've wanted to help homeless people and children especially. I had a dream a long time ago of a new boys-town.. Remember back in the day I think it was called Boys-town in Chicago and it was a place for Homeless people to live and learn a trade. I think...

Well my idea and I have it drawn out in my head, I should put it on paper is to have a Project called LiveLife for the homeless to live in abandoned warehouses, apt complexes whatever the city will give us or we can buy cheaply, have volunteers construction people teach the people (men more) to rebuild the whole place inside and out to a beautiful apartment complex, but here's the catcher the bottom level will be all stores, and the women would run and learn about running their own business. It would need to be at least a block long for each building maybe.

I work in Camden NJ and I drove to work yesterday and saw a TENT city of all homeless and said that's it I NEED TO SOMETHING.. I wrote to mayor of Camden, of course she wont respond. But I don't know what else to do.

I started a non-profit and for right now its featuring Haiti, since were so small and no one talks about helping out in NJ on the TV, its all PA. I started a collection of non-perishable items and hopefully donations that will go straight to the Red Cross when collected. But even that's going no where. But on this website is were the idea of this Live Life project is maybe someone will see it. http://cirfoa.org

Niki very touched by your mission! I think you have an unbelievable idea! Read an article lately that there is an increase in homeless families due to this economic climate...very sad. Try to reach out to big organizations like whole foods, gap, march of dimes, Ronald McDonald house organizations that really cater and care about the well being of children for support and guidance. What may also help is to reach out to social workers to get homeless families some state support in the mean time while they get on there own two feet. You can work with a local restaurant to have a charity night where the proceeds can go to your organization. I wish you nothing but the best of luck! Keep us posted on your progress!

Hi Everyone! Does anyone have any advice or information of how you can bring a food item to the market? I have a great idea for a beverage for kids and would like to bring it to supermarket shelves. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
