Sister's Rock
I am a huge fan of Constantine Maroulis! Seeing Constantine on the hit TV show American Idol made me love music all over again. It really brought me back to the days in high school when you would run around in the car with your friends with the music loud. I went to a concert in Dewey Beach with my sister's last summer and met other Constantine fans. Sister's can rock no matter how old! This put me in touch with them online and kept me up to date on his latest shows. It was amazing to me, how many nice woman were out there just like me. It really put my faith back in human nature. The goodness of people, in a world where we are not trusting of others. Since Dewey, I have been to many events. I love seeing the same friends over and over. I even had a house concert with artist, Jim Boggia, which was an amazing experience. This year we have seen shows in NYC, The Cutting Room, The Bitter End, The Knitting Factory, Joe's Pub, Corio and many different Broadway theaters! Our car trips back and forth to Manhattan and dinners out have been meaningful with my husband, my teenage children and new friends. My renewed appreciation for music has opened me up to new friendships, music and life experiences that I did not have before going Beyond the Bus Stop. I feel young again in a way that is hard to describe. We are a grown up sorority for women who appreciate who they are and can share in the music together.
We are never too old to make new friends and try new things. There is a big world out there with many opportunities.

Finding the Music Again
My husband and I have a 13 year old daughter and are hooked on watching American Idol! During the 4th season in 2005 Bo Bice was one of the contestants. He sings Classic Rock, Southern/Country Rock and Pop. I just love Classic Rock and Southern/Country Rock! I hadn't been listening to much music before American Idol. In fact my life was very boring, I had lost my passions in life. Bo Bice has brought me back to listening to music again! Last August I was getting bored, my daughter was going back to school. I started to search for Bo on the computer. I ended up at one of Bo's fan sites. I'd never gone to a fan site before! I began surfing this fan site, I was being drawn to it. I didn't know why. Two weeks later I registered on it, I'd never done anything like this in my life! The women on this fan site were kind to each other and to me, there were no negative postings on it! I said to myself that I trust these women and I have never met them before. Wow, What a ride I was going to be on! We, on this fan site were following Bo Bice's career, his challenges, his spiritual connection, his life!!! I have learned so much for my own life by following him this last year. I'm more grounded spiritually, I have a whole bunch of new friends, many of which I've never met. I actually went to one of Bo's concerts and sat in the 2nd row and had so much fun being a teenager again!!!!! I met about 15 of my Bo friends, one from Australia, and the rest from all across the U.S. at this concert. We all sat together! I'm 53 and this is the most fun I have had in a long, long time! I am now currently on three Bo Bice fan sites. My husband is cool with all these things that I am doing. He went to the concert with me too! My daughter thinks I'm crazy but what does she know! Next month the three of us are going to another Bo concert 4 hours away from my home! So what else have I learned, I'm helping to grow Bo's fan base, one person at a time, I'm reaching out to others and making more friends, I'm e-mailing fellow fans to try and get Bo to do a concert in my town and the most important thing is, I'm having a Blast going beyond the bus stop!

It's Time to Rock
Last May, my good friend got to meet Rick Springfield at a wedding. The same Rick that I had a crush on back in the 80's! Now at 40, I had no idea he was still performing and looking so good in his 50's! I guess because I was busy in the land of Barney, Power Rangers, and Yu-gi-o! This whole Rick sighting caught my interest and in June I read he was coming to a local fair to perform. Out of curiosity, I decided to go while my family was at a Cub Scout campout. I elbowed my way to the front of the stage, which is usually not my style. There were lots of women my age and when the music came on, everyone went crazy. I danced and sang along to all the songs I knew and realized at that moment I was hooked. I went to see him again that summer and fall. My loving husband even bought me a ticket that put me up close to the stage and close enough to touch him. The kids sing along now in the mini van to his music. I even took my kids and husband to a concert. I have met many other fans my age that share the same hobby. Have I gone crazy? Is this a mid life crisis? Who cares, I am having a great time! I figure I have a wonderful husband and healthy kids, I volunteer at school; I work on fixing up my house, etc... So, why not have a little fun, and go Beyond the Bus Stop! I feel for the first time I have gone way Beyond the Bus Stop. And, it won't be the last time either. I am looking forward to many more of his concerts this year. Lisa, Alexandria, VA., married, mother of three boys.
